About the Artist
Peter moved to Bath in 1981. He’s now retired and has been volunteering for Genesis since 2015. Whilst he painted intermittently during his working life, finding the time to do it was always difficult. It was not until he retired that he was able to devote more time to the pastime. He paints mostly in watercolour; although I sometimes use gouache and latterly I have been experimenting with acrylics. He prefers watercolour though. It is demanding medium and is best when painted with a freedom where the paint is put on wet and allowed to blend. He says, ‘Happy accidents are a hazard and a joy!’He likes to paint a variety of subjects like buildings, landscapes, birds and animals.
